‹100 Daughters 10 Mothers›‹100 Daughters 10 Mothers› examines the 'Mohm', a theme of Typojanchi Biennale, by exploring the traits of images as interpreted as in the fluid organism that constantly transforms in online network. While modern technology aims for ultra high resolution, our time is also an era of low res poor images. These millions of poor images are reproduced through piracy, aired through repeated compression and transfer, end up in our screen. We consume these poor images and texts like never before as a language. ‹100 Daughters 10 Mothers› project presents GIFs as a new form of language. This project composes of the ‘mother-daughter’ relationship. Each image evolves into the second generation as participants create their own work by reflecting forms from the original. The project continues to evolve with each new generation. The meme that constantly evolves over generations represents not only designer's ideas but also reflects how images are consumed in current design discourse.
