이 프로젝트는 정형화된 모듈인 레고를 쌓는 행위를 통해 입체적 덩어리가 기호로 변모하는 과정을 탐구합니다. 레고라는 물리적 재료를 조립하여 만들어진 입체 형상은 보는 이의 각도에 따라 구체적인 ‘글자’로 인식되기도 하고, 때로는 추상적인 ‘형태’로 읽히기도 합니다.
이러한 가변적 시점을 시각화하기 위해 아크릴 상자와 거울을 활용하여 글자를 다각도에서 관찰할 수 있도록 구성했습니다. 입체물에서 추출된 조형적 단서들은 다시 평면 스케치로 치환되며, 최종적으로는 전시장 테이블 상판과 같은 가구의 형태로 확장됩니다. 이는 3차원의 물성이 2차원으로, 다시 물성을 지닌 형태로 변환되는 과정을 실험하며, 글자가 매체와 차원을 넘어 어떻게 활용될 수 있는지를 보여줍니다.

This project explores the process of transforming three-dimensional mass into visual symbols through the act of assembling standardized Lego modules. The structural forms, built by stacking physical blocks, oscillate between recognizable ‘letterforms’ and abstract ‘shapes’ depending on the observer's perspective.
To visualize this fluidity of viewpoint, the letterforms are displayed within acrylic boxes with integrated mirrors, allowing for simultaneous observation from multiple angles. The formal clues extracted from these 3D structures are translated into 2D sketches, eventually extending into functional forms such as the surfaces of exhibition tables. This experiment demonstrates the cyclical process of converting 3D materiality into 2D logic and back into physical form, showcasing how letterforms can transcend media and dimensions.
