한글 서체가 극도로 두꺼워질 때 발생하는 조형적 현상을 추적한 타이포그래피 실험입니다. 글자의 가독성을 결정짓는 형태적 요소를 의도적으로 지우고, 오직 위치값과 색상이라는 최소한의 단서만을 남겨 글자와 납작한 덩어리(그래픽) 사이의 경계를 탐구했습니다.
단체전 〈tele-〉에서 처음 공개된 이 영상 작업은, 이후 벽면 전체를 덮는 거대한 현수막 설치와 450페이지 분량의 아카이브 북으로 확장되며 디지털 화면을 넘어 물리적 부피를 가진 덩어리로 치환되는 감각의 전이를 시각화했습니다.This project is a typographic experiment that traces the formal phenomena occurring when Hangul typefaces reach extreme thickness. By intentionally omitting the structural elements required for legibility and leaving behind only minimal clues—such as positional values and color—I explored the ambiguous boundary between letters and flat Deongeori (graphics).
Initially unveiled as a video work for the group exhibition 〈tele-〉, the project later expanded into a large-scale banner installation and a 450-page archive book. This evolution visualizes the 'transference of senses,' where digital screens are transcended to take on the physical volume and weight of a tangible object.Curated: Jiun Kwon, Nakjun Choi
